Pittsburgh golf has a genuine online scene. Not a huge one, but a real one, and it is more interesting than the follower counts suggest. There are touring pros who grew up here, comedians who shoot skits at courses you have played, a teaching pro at Butler Country Club with three Golf Digest awards, and a radio show on 93.7 The Fan.
We went looking for all of it. Twenty four accounts, checked one at a time: profile loaded, follower count read off the page, bio expanded, links opened. Here is who is worth following if you golf around here.
The touring pros
Neal Shipley (@neal_shipley19, 90K) is from Mt. Lebanon and is the local story right now. He played the final round of the 2024 Masters paired with Tiger Woods as low amateur, then turned pro. If you want one account that makes Pittsburgh golf feel like it matters nationally, this is it.
Rocco Mediate (@rocco_golf, 133K) was born in Greensburg and does not live here anymore, but the 2008 US Open playoff against Tiger at Torrey Pines is still the best thing a Western PA golfer has done on television. Six PGA Tour wins, and he is genuinely funny online.
The creators worth your time
Golfer McGolferface (@toc.golf, 52.7K) is the biggest confirmed Pittsburgh-based golf creator we found. More family and finance takes than course footage, which is not what we expected and is part of why it works.
Johnny Pittsburgh (@johnny.pittsburgh, 75K) is not a golf-only account, but when he golfs he golfs here, and the Pittsburgh voice is the whole point.
Yinzer Golf (@yinzer_golf, 22.3K) is John Bair, and he runs the Yinzer Classic, now in its second year, which put roughly sixteen local creators on one course at Hickory Heights in Bridgeville. If you want to understand who knows who in Pittsburgh golf, start here.
Tyler Bajus (@donniebagelsgolf, 4.0K) played a hundred rounds in a hundred and ninety six days and posts course reviews. Small following, and the best pure course-content fit on this list. If you are deciding where to play next weekend, he has probably been there recently.
Alright Yinz Guys (@alrightyinzguys, 2.4K) shoot at Moon Golf Club, Quicksilver and Madison Club. Local in a way you can verify by looking at the background of the videos.
DIP (@dipthagolfer, 4.1K) and The Calloways (@theothercalloway, 3.9K) round out the Pittsburgh creator group, both worth a follow.
Austin Lamont (@austinlamontgolf, 235) is the smallest account here and included on purpose. Everyone starts somewhere, and local golf content is better when more people make it.
Eastern Ohio
The directory covers eastern Ohio, and two creators there deserve a mention.
Thomas Malacky (@thomasmalacky, 116.2K on TikTok) is in the Youngstown-Warren area and has the highest reach of anyone we confirmed inside the footprint. Comedy first, self-deprecating, very good at it.
Jordan Jolly (@jordanjollygolf, 3.2K on Instagram, 10.5K on TikTok) is the other northeast Ohio name to know.
The people who actually run golf here
Western Pennsylvania Golf Association (@thewpga, 6.8K) has been running the region's championship calendar since 1899. If you play competitively, or want to, this is the calendar.
Tri-State Section PGA (@tri_statepga, 4.8K) represents teaching professionals across Western PA, West Virginia and Western Maryland, which is almost exactly the area this directory covers. Roughly four hundred pros.
Mike LaBella (@mlabgolf, 2.4K) is Director of Golf Performance at Butler Country Club, a two-time Tri-State PGA Teacher and Coach of the Year, and a three-time Golf Digest Best Young Teacher. The follower count is the least interesting thing about him.
Media
Gerry Dulac (@gerrydulac, 67.3K on X) covers the Steelers for the Post-Gazette and is a serious golfer who writes about it. The best-followed Pittsburgh sports journalist on this list.
Pittsburgh Golf Now (@pghgolfnow, 391) is Matt Gajtka, and it is the only dedicated Pittsburgh golf publication we found. Follower count is the wrong measure here; the editorial reach is real.
Going Low Golf Show (@GoingLowFAN, 778) airs on 93.7 The Fan. The audience is on the radio, not on X.
Courses and shops worth following
Nemacolin (@nemacolin, 151K) has the largest following of any account here, though golf shares the feed with the resort. Mystic Rock hosted a PGA Tour event from 2003 to 2006.
Olde Stonewall (@oldestonewallgolf, 1.9K) in Ellwood City is one of the most photographed courses in the region, and the feed shows why.
Shooters Golf (@shootersgolfpgh, 9.4K) in Wexford and Vietmeier Golf Center (@vietmeiergolfcenter, 799) in McKees Rocks are where a lot of people around here actually get fitted and practice through the winter.
Two we could not place
Hammy Golf (@hammy.golf, 438.5K on TikTok) is by far the biggest golf creator with a Pennsylvania tag. His bio says "22 | PA" and nothing narrower, and Philadelphia is also Pennsylvania. We could not confirm he is on this side of the state, so he is here with an asterisk rather than left out.
@itspittsburgh_golfer (5,575 on TikTok) has the handle and the follower count and nothing else. No bio, and the video grid does not render for a logged-out visitor. We could not confirm the account is local or active.
A note on how this list was built
Every follower count here was read off the rendered profile rather than pulled from a scraper, and truncated bios were expanded before being quoted. Two location claims that the profiles themselves do not carry, Neal Shipley in Mt. Lebanon and Rocco Mediate in Greensburg, were confirmed against Pittsburgh news coverage instead. A few claims we found repeated elsewhere got left out because we could not see them ourselves.
Follower counts move. These were accurate in August 2026.
